Technographics

ICP & Targeting
Definition
Technographics describe the software stack a company runs — CRM, MAP, analytics, collaboration tools, infrastructure providers. Knowing a prospect's technographic profile tells you whether your product integrates cleanly, whether they have budget for your category, and often whether they are actively looking (a recent tool change signals intent). Technographics are a second-layer ICP criterion after firmographics, not a replacement.

Why it matters

Technographics narrow the funnel from 'could buy' to 'ready to buy.' A company running your competitor's tool and hiring for the role your product covers is a better target than a perfect-firmographic-match that has no budget for your category. Technographics add timing to fit.

Example

A conversational email platform targets companies that use Outreach or Salesloft but have no conversational AI add-on. The technographic signal ('uses Outreach' + 'no AI layer') creates a warm-intent segment that converts at 3× the rate of a broad firmographic pull.

How Impossible Data helps

Impossible Data's attendee datasets include company-level technographic signals when available, so you can combine conference attendance with tech-stack context for your targeting.
