On-site routing
Events & Field Marketing- Definition
- On-site routing is the real-time coordination of which team member meets which prospect at a conference or event. Instead of generic booth duty rotation, on-site routing assigns each attendee to the right person based on account profile, relationship stage, and team role: an AE meets with qualified pipeline accounts, a product manager meets with technical evaluators, and an SDR meets with new prospects. The best on-site routing happens before the event — scheduled meetings with context — versus reactive badge-scan follow-up.
Why it matters
On-site routing is the difference between an event that generates pipeline and an event that generates business cards. A badge scan without a routed follow-up is a data point that decays fast. On-site routing ensures every conversation has an owner and a next step before the conversation starts.
Example
A team of six attends Dreamforce. Before the event, they route 30 booked meetings across the team: the enterprise AE owns the 10 Fortune 500 accounts; the mid-market AE owns the 15 SaaS growth accounts; the product lead owns the 5 technical evaluations. Each meeting has a pre-populated brief with account history, contact intelligence notes, and talking points. No one asks 'who am I meeting next?' at the booth.
How Impossible Data helps
Impossible Data's contact-level dataset lets you pre-assign every attendee meeting by role, seniority, and account tier so your on-site routing is done before you leave the office.
