Data enrichment

Firmographics & Data Enrichment
Definition
Data enrichment is the process of taking a raw record — usually an email address, company name, or LinkedIn profile — and appending additional fields: work phone, job title, seniority tier, company revenue, industry code, technographic signals. Enrichment fills the gaps your form or data source left empty. The output is only as good as the source data and the matching algorithm; a 60% match rate with high accuracy beats 90% match rate with invented fields.

Why it matters

Raw contact data is useless for routing, scoring, or personalization. Enrichment is the transformation step that turns 'a list of emails' into 'a segmented pipeline.' Skipping it means your SDRs spend the first touch just trying to figure out who they are talking to.

Example

A RevOps team uploads 2,000 raw email addresses from a conference badge-scan export to an enrichment tool. The tool returns 1,600 matched records with company name, headcount band, revenue band, and LinkedIn profiles appended. The team drops the 400 unmatched and routes the 1,600 to their SDR team with priority scores.

How Impossible Data helps

Every Impossible Data dataset is pre-enriched — firmographics, seniority, contact fields — so you skip the enrichment step and go straight to segmentation and outreach.
